100 Days to Beijing’s World Humanoid Robot Games 2025

Beijing is counting down the final 100 days to the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games, a global robotics festival from August 15 to 17 at the National Stadium, known as the Bird's Nest, and the National Speed Skating Oval. Teams from companies, universities and research institutes will send humanoid competitors to test their mettle in relay races, high jumps and even badminton showdowns.

More than just sports, the event blends art and utility. Robots will perform synchronized dance routines and floor gymnastics entirely on their own, demonstrating real-time coordination. Scenario-based challenges in mock factories, hospitals and hotels will push machines to sort medications, welcome guests and clean rooms, testing their adaptability to daily tasks.

Main events mimic human athletics – track and field, gymnastics and soccer – while supplementary competitions feature non-humanoid bots in basketball, table tennis and badminton. Relay teams can pool resources across groups for the 4x100m dash, but robot swaps during events are a no-go to maintain fairness.

Strict technical rules keep the playing field level: participants must be self-powered, integrated units with torsos, upper limbs and two legs or wheels. Control can be wireless or fully autonomous, but no human help is allowed during timed dance and gymnastic segments.

As the world tunes in to Beijing this summer, the games promise a thrilling glimpse of tomorrow's robotics breakthroughs. Young innovators, tech fans and global citizens alike can look forward to witnessing machines sprint, leap and even serve in a test of speed, agility and intelligence.
