In a landmark virtual gathering on Monday, China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took a major step toward deepening their economic partnership by launching the first meeting of a high-level investment cooperation committee.
The session was co-chaired by Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, who also serves on the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, alongside Vice President of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Ding highlighted the role of the committee and its potential to accelerate bilateral projects. He called for collaborative planning under the Belt and Road Initiative, urging both sides to steer major projects, expand areas of cooperation, and explore innovative partnership models.
On the UAE side, Sheikh Mansour commended the strength of the bilateral relationship and expressed confidence in the strength of the Chinese economy. He emphasized that closer investment ties would leverage complementary advantages and drive shared prosperity.
Looking ahead, this high-level committee is set to serve as a strategic platform bringing together enterprises and policy makers from both nations. Young global investors, tech innovators, and sustainable development advocates will be watching closely as China-UAE cooperation unfolds new opportunities across infrastructure, energy, and emerging tech sectors.
