Phnom Penh came alive this week as Cambodia aired its local version of “The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping,” a multilingual cultural show produced by China Media Group (CMG). The launch coincided with General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping’s state visit to Cambodia, underscoring the deepening ties between the two nations.
CMG hosted a formal ceremony attended by nearly 200 guests, including politicians, business leaders, academics and media representatives from both China and Cambodia. In a congratulatory letter, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, president of the Cambodian People’s Party and Senate president, hailed Cambodia–China relations as being at an all‑time high. He expressed hope that the show would spark cultural exchanges and offer fresh inspiration for tackling global challenges together.
The Cambodian edition highlights themes of environmental protection, cultural heritage and innovation, and promotes exchanges among civilizations. By framing these ideas from a global viewpoint, the program aims to make the cultural foundations of Chinese modernization relatable and engaging for viewers across Southeast Asia and beyond.
At the event, Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of CMG, emphasized a commitment to collaborate with Cambodian partners on cultural projects. “We will deepen cooperation across various fields, launch standout initiatives in cultural exchange, and inject fresh momentum into building a China–Cambodia community with a shared future,” he said.
As young global citizens, business innovators and cultural enthusiasts tune in, the show offers a window into how storytelling and shared values can bridge borders—and inspire new ideas for sustainability and mutual understanding in an interconnected world.
