Vietnam has taken a bold step in enhancing cross-cultural dialogue with the Vietnamese debut of "The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping," a multilingual television show produced by China Media Group. The program was aired in Vietnam as Xi Jinping embarked on a two-day state visit, setting the stage for deeper media collaboration and cultural exchange.
This initiative is part of a broad cultural exchange celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. At a ceremony marking this milestone, China Media Group and Vietnam Television solidified plans to establish a regular cooperation mechanism that includes content sharing, joint production, and personnel exchanges.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a letter of congratulations on the occasion. He emphasized that with 2025 earmarked as the Vietnam-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges, both broadcasters have a unique opportunity to further strengthen cultural ties and build a community based on shared values and mutual progress.
At the event, Shen Haixiong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of China Media Group, underlined the commitment to nurturing a relationship founded on amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness. His remarks reflected a shared vision of a peaceful, safe, and prosperous future.
Nguyen Thanh Lam, president of Vietnam Television, highlighted that more than 30 years of cooperation between the two flagship media institutions has paved the way for enriched people-to-people exchanges, which he believes are vital for enduring friendship between the nations.
Le Hai Binh, executive vice minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, added that the close cultural bonds between Vietnam and China have always been a cornerstone of cooperation, and he expressed optimism that ongoing media engagement will further cement these ties.
Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei remarked that the program has the potential to help Vietnamese viewers gain a deeper understanding of China, emphasizing that robust people-to-people connections play a key role in fostering harmonious state relations.
