China Calls for End to U.S. Tariff Pressure

In an assertive call to recalibrate global trade dynamics, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the U.S. to abandon its maximum pressure approach on reciprocal tariffs. Spokesperson Lin Jian stressed that there are no winners in tariff or trade wars, noting that protectionism ultimately harms both sides.

The updated guidance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection exempts smartphones, computers, and other electronic products entering after April 5 from these tariffs, with provisions to refund previously paid tariffs upon request. Lin Jian called for resolving issues through open, respectful dialogue on an equal footing—a message that resonates with business professionals, tech enthusiasts, and young global citizens seeking sustainable economic progress.
