China Sets Record with 49 UNESCO Global Geoparks

China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration announced on Friday that two new geoparks—one in Qinghai Province and another in Chongqing Municipality—have earned the prestigious title of UNESCO Global Geopark. With these latest additions, China now boasts 49 UNESCO Global Geoparks, the highest number in the world.

This achievement underscores the diverse natural heritage found across the country. Recognized for their outstanding geological value, these geoparks serve as hubs for sustainable tourism, environmental education, and scientific research. They invite travelers and young global citizens to explore breathtaking landscapes and to engage with nature in an intimate, educational way.

The new designations not only highlight the beauty of regions like Qinghai and Chongqing but also reinforce the importance of preserving our planet's natural wonders for future generations. This record-setting milestone continues to inspire innovation and conservation efforts on a global scale.
