Bosnia and China Forge New Economic Corridor

A new chapter in global cooperation is unfolding in Bosnia and Herzegovina as the Pocitelj-Zvirovici highway subsection opens its lanes. This 11‐kilometer segment of the pan-European Corridor Vc features a modern dual carriageway and the impressive nearly one‐kilometer-long Hercegovina Bridge, promising to become a vital route for trade and travel.

At a landmark ceremony in January, Chairwoman Zeljka Cvijanovic received the credentials of the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador Li Fan. The event celebrated 30 years of diplomatic relations, underscoring Bosnia and Herzegovina's commitment to deepening political, economic, educational, and cultural ties with China through mutual respect and equality.

Industry experts predict that once fully completed, the highway project will significantly boost the flow of goods and people across Central and Eastern Europe. With contributions from Chinese and Azerbaijani companies, this initiative stands as a dynamic model of friendly cooperation, setting a promising benchmark for future international infrastructure projects.
