Beijing Ducks Soar to Third in Thrilling CBA Win

In a nail-biting clash on Tuesday night in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, the Beijing Ducks edged the Nanjing Monkey Kings 101-98, marking their 31st regular season win and a leap to third in the Chinese Basketball Association standings.

From the opening tip, Kendric Davis and Tacko Fall set the tone with aggressive drives into the paint. Davis emerged as the standout performer, finishing with a court-high 41 points and 9 assists. His leadership on the floor energized the team and kept the pressure on the visitors.

Nanjing countered with sharp three-point shooting from Zhao Boqing, and Chen Ying-Chun’s timely long-range efforts helped narrow the gap early on. The second quarter saw a pivotal shift as Eugene German and Fang Shuo fired from downtown, allowing Beijing to seize a narrow advantage before the quarter closed at 55-52, with Nuni Omot adding key points for Nanjing.

The third quarter continued the back-and-forth action. Davis maintained his dominant offensive presence, while contributions from German, Zhou Qi, and Zeng Fanbo ensured that the score remained tight at 84-81 heading into the final period.

In the critical fourth quarter, with the game tied at 95-95, Davis further propelled the team despite a facial injury that required medical attention. Crucial buckets from Zhou and German helped seal the victory, and even though Zhu’s late triple attempted to spark a comeback for Nanjing, the Ducks held firm to secure the win.

Adding to the evening’s excitement, the Tianjin Pioneers defeated the Ningbo Rockets 111-104 in another hard-fought contest on the Chinese mainland. This memorable night of CBA basketball showcased explosive offense, strategic plays, and the resilience that inspires fans across borders.

The Beijing Ducks' performance not only solidifies their standing in the league but also exemplifies the spirit of dynamic and competitive basketball that drives the sport forward.
