Chinese Premier Li Qiang Urges Robust Measures for Farm Produce Supply

In a decisive call to secure the nationโ€™s food future, Chinese Premier Li Qiang has urged all localities and government departments to prioritize agriculture and rural development. Speaking at a national conference on spring agricultural production in Suqian, east China's Jiangsu Province, the premier emphasized that a steady supply of grains and key farm produce is essential to meet the country's annual target of around 700 million tonnes.

Premier Li, a senior member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, outlined urgent measures to bolster food security for over 1.4 billion people. He stressed that the stabilization of grain and oil crop areas, combined with the large-scale adoption of advanced agricultural machinery and technology, is vital to both protect and enhance the country's food production capabilities.

Joining the discussions, Vice Premier Liu Guozhong highlighted the need to improve arable land quality by cultivating high-standard farmland and increasing per unit crop yields. He pointed out that integrating modern science and technology into traditional farming practices could transform agricultural productivity, making the sector more resilient in the face of natural disasters and market fluctuations.

Both leaders articulated a comprehensive strategy that aims to not only sustain current achievements in poverty alleviation but also spur rural revitalization. By upgrading support systems and strengthening emergency monitoring, the measures are designed to ensure that food security remains uncompromised even as the agricultural landscape undergoes rapid modernization.

These efforts showcase a forward-thinking approach that blends digital innovation with traditional agricultural values, resonating strongly with a global audience of young digital citizens, tech enthusiasts, and changemakers. The focus on agricultural modernization stands as a promising blueprint for sustainable development and real-world impact in an increasingly interconnected world.
