A new era in maritime innovation is underway as China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) delivers a record-setting 8,600-car carrier. Measuring around 200 meters in length with a 38-meter beam, the independently developed vessel features 14 decks designed to efficiently load and transport a variety of vehicles including passenger cars, trucks, and buses.
The milestone achievement comes from a remarkably rapid hull assembly and adjustment cycle completed in just 200 days, marking the fastest turnaround for a car carrier of its size in the nation. Li Zhizhong, production director of CSSC's Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, highlighted that the breakthrough was achieved through integrated construction technology and an optimized roll-on/roll-off system design, paving the way for future models with even larger capacities.
This record-breaking delivery not only showcases high performance and energy efficiency but also sets a new benchmark in the maritime industry. With plans to deliver 28 vessels this year, CSSC continues to drive innovation and efficiency in the global shipping and logistics sectors.
