Hami-Zhengzhou UHVDC Line Hits 10,000 GWh Milestone

A landmark achievement in renewable energy innovation, the Hami-Zhengzhou Β±800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) line has transmitted over 10,000 GWh of electricity by mid-March this year, marking an impressive 11.2% year-on-year increase.

Inaugurated in January 2014, this pioneering project spans 2,192 kilometers and connects six provinces and autonomous regions in the Chinese mainland, including Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, and Henan. Located at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains, Hami benefits from abundant wind and solar resources, establishing itself as a key hub for renewable energy generation.

The record transmission not only ensures improved electricity supply in Henan but also promotes economic development and sustainable growth in the region. This engineering feat highlights the potential of modern technology to drive the renewable energy transition and inspire innovators, tech enthusiasts, and changemakers worldwide.

As the global shift toward cleaner energy accelerates, the success of the Hami-Zhengzhou UHVDC line stands as a testament to forward-thinking investments and the power of collaborative infrastructure development.
