Chinese Deputies Prioritize Ecological Protection at Two Sessions

Ecological conservation is taking a prominent role in China's political agenda as members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and deputies to the National People's Congress (NPC) emphasize the importance of protecting the environment. During the Two Sessions, a significant platform where national policies are discussed and shaped, ecological protection emerged as a key focus area.

The third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee concluded on Monday, highlighting the commitment of Chinese officials to sustainable development. In total, 604 proposals related to ecological civilization were submitted, representing 12.1 percent of all proposals received. This substantial number underscores the growing consensus among Chinese lawmakers on the necessity of advancing ecological conservation efforts.

The emphasis on ecological protection aligns with global trends towards sustainability and environmental responsibility. By prioritizing these initiatives, China aims to balance economic growth with the preservation of natural resources, ensuring a harmonious relationship between development and the environment.
