Sanjiangyuan National Park Flourishes: Boost in Biodiversity Thanks to Dedicated Rangers

Sanjiangyuan National Park, often referred to as the "Water Tower of China," has witnessed remarkable strides in biodiversity and ecological stability, according to recent statements by Lian Yuming, chief expert of the Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration and a member of China's top political advisory body.

During the Members' Corridor of the third session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at Beijing's Great Hall of the People, Lian highlighted the park's impressive progress. He noted that Sanjiangyuan is home to over 3,000 recorded alpine wild plant species and 310 alpine wild animal species, underscoring its vital role in regional and global ecosystems.

Central to these achievements are the more than 21,000 ecological rangers who tirelessly guard the park's vast landscapes day and night. Their dedication ensures the protection of this rich biodiversity, fostering sustainability and ecological harmony.

With a population of over 110,000 ethnic Zang people residing in the area, the collaborative efforts between local communities and ecological rangers have been pivotal in maintaining the park's environmental health. The success of Sanjiangyuan serves as a testament to the power of committed stewardship in preserving our planet's invaluable natural resources.
