Chinese Skeleton Team Wins Bronze at IBSF World Championships

In a thrilling display of speed and precision, Zhao Dan and Lin Qinwei of the Chinese mainland clinched the bronze medal in the skeleton mixed team event at the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Championships held in Lake Placid, New York, on Sunday.

The duo finished the final run with an impressive time of 1:54.81, just moments behind the U.S. champions Mystique Ro and Austin Florian, who clocked in at 1:54.53. The British pair, Tabitha Stoecker and Matt Weston, secured the silver medal, making it a highly competitive event.

Another Chinese team, composed of Li Yuxi and Chen Wenhao, finished in eighth place, showcasing the depth of talent within China's skeleton program.

Looking ahead, the skeleton mixed team event is set to make its Olympic debut at the 2026 Winter Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. Zhao and Lin's recent achievement builds on their earlier success, having won China's first World Cup title in this event in Winterberg, Germany, earlier this January.

This bronze medal not only highlights China's growing prowess in winter sports but also sets the stage for an exciting future as athletes continue to push the boundaries on the international stage.
