China Dismisses US Weapons’ Impact on Taiwan Independence

In a recent statement during the annual national legislative session, Wu Qian, spokesperson for the delegation of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the People's Armed Police Force, asserted that the deployment of several U.S. weapons will not alter the inevitable demise of Taiwan independence.

Wu emphasized that as 'Taiwan independence' separatists become more fervent, the PLA's countermeasures will intensify. "The more rampant 'Taiwan independence' separatists become, the tighter the noose around their necks and the sharper the sword hanging over their heads will be," Wu stated.

He further highlighted the PLA's role in promoting reunification and countering separatism, noting that increased patrols around the island and military deterrence have become standard in recent years.

Addressing external interference, Wu reiterated that the Taiwan question is solely an internal affair of China. "China's reunification is an overriding trend," he added, attributing it to both national strength and the will of the people.

Wu criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities for escalating separatist actions under the belief that they can rely on U.S. support to achieve Taiwan independence and resist reunification. He warned that such provocations have ignited widespread indignation among compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and will be judged by history and justice.
