Senior leaders from the Chinese mainland gathered on Friday for deliberations at the third session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), the nation's top legislative body.
Prominent political advisor Wang Huning took part in discussions alongside NPC deputies from the Taiwan delegation. During the session, Wang underscored the importance of maintaining the one-China principle and the 1992 Consensus, while firmly opposing any moves toward "Taiwan independence" and external meddling.
As chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Wang called for enhanced and meaningful integrated development across the Taiwan Straits. His remarks highlighted the commitment to ensuring that residents of Taiwan benefit from and contribute to the advancements of Chinese modernization.
