Hong Kong & Macao Advisors Seek Deeper Integration into China’s Growth

Over 230 political advisors from Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions (SARs) recently journeyed to Beijing with a unified mission: to propose strategies that would further integrate their vibrant cities into China's broader national development framework.

In an exclusive conversation, CGTN's Li Zhao engaged with two distinguished members of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) representing Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR. They emphasized the unique financial strengths and global connectivity of their regions as pivotal assets for national progress.

"Hong Kong and Macao serve as critical financial hubs with extensive international networks," one advisor noted. "By leveraging these strengths, we can foster greater economic collaboration and innovation that benefits not only our regions but the entire nation."

The advisors presented a series of suggestions aimed at enhancing economic ties, promoting investment, and harnessing technological advancements. Their proposals highlight the importance of maintaining the distinct advantages of Hong Kong and Macao while aligning with China's overarching development goals.

This initiative underscores the commitment of both SARs to play a significant role in China's ongoing economic transformation and global engagement.
