At a press conference held on Friday during the third session of the 14th National People's Congress, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reaffirmed that the one-China principle serves as the political foundation of China-Japan relations.
Wang emphasized that any attempts to provoke trouble in the name of the Taiwan region would inevitably invite trouble for Japan, highlighting the interconnectedness of regional stability.
He stressed the importance of remembering history as a guide for shaping the future, cautioning that forgetting historical lessons can lead to a loss of direction.
The Foreign Minister also underscored the necessity for Japan to guard against the revival of militarism, a duty that both China and the Asian people share resolutely.
Wang posed critical questions to Japan, urging its leaders to consider the right path for neighborly relations and to align with the correct side of history amidst ongoing transformations.
