China Accelerates AI Adoption Across Industries and Homes

China is harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to transform both industries and households. At a recent press briefing, Chen Changsheng, a key member of the Government Work Report Drafting Team, outlined the nation's strategic focus on AI during the third session of the 14th National People's Congress.

Highlighting the year's rapid AI advancements, Chen mentioned DeepSeek's global success and Unitree Robotics' dancing robot featured at the China Media Group Spring Festival Gala. These innovations demonstrate China's commitment to integrating AI into everyday life and various sectors.

The government is prioritizing three main areas this year:

  1. Empowering Industries: AI will be embedded in manufacturing, agriculture, and services. Emphasis is placed on developing specialized large AI models to boost productivity and drive industrial transformation.
  2. Expanding AI-Powered Consumer Products: China aims to accelerate the creation of smart connected vehicles, AI-enhanced smartphones, AI-driven computers, and intelligent robots. By aligning AI advancements with manufacturing prowess, these products will reach consumers more quickly, enhancing daily life.
  3. Scaling AI Applications Across Sectors: The government plans large-scale demonstrations of new AI technologies in areas like the low-altitude economy, education, and healthcare. Efforts will focus on fostering innovation and wide-scale adoption, avoiding market fragmentation and ensuring synergy between technology and market needs.

Additionally, China is advancing core AI technologies, promoting data-driven innovation, and optimizing computing infrastructure nationwide. Recognizing the vital role of young professionals in AI development, the government is allocating more resources to support youth-led initiatives and create an inclusive environment for innovation.
