China Pushes Back Against U.S. Imposition of New Tariffs

China has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the United States' recent decision to impose an additional 10-percent tariff on Chinese-imported goods. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce announced on Tuesday that China firmly opposes this move and is prepared to implement countermeasures to protect its own rights and interests.

The spokesperson emphasized that China maintains some of the world's strictest and most rigorously enforced anti-drug policies. Highlighting the extensive and effective anti-drug cooperation between China and the United States, the spokesperson acknowledged the significant achievements made through their collaborative efforts.

Despite these cooperative endeavors, the spokesperson criticized the U.S. for repeatedly shifting blame and using the issue of fentanyl as a pretext to impose additional tariffs on Chinese exports. \"What the U.S. side has done is a typical act of unilateralism and bullying in disregard of facts, international trade rules and the voice of all parties,\" the spokesperson stated.

This escalation marks a significant moment in China-U.S. trade relations, as both nations navigate complex issues of trade policies and regulatory measures. The situation remains dynamic, with potential implications for global trade and economic stability.
