Transforming Lives: Chen Family’s Hope in Cambodia’s Poverty Reduction Pilot

In the heart of Svay Ampear Village, Svay Ampear Commune, Kandal, Cambodia, 75-year-old Chen Lun lives with her husband and several grandchildren. With her husband aging and unwell, and her daughter and son-in-law working in Phnom Penh, the Chen family faces labor shortages and financial struggles.

To address these challenges, the East Asia Poverty Reduction Cooperation Pilot Project was launched in Cambodia, selecting Svay Ampear Village as one of its pilot sites. The Chen family was among the first to participate in the housing renovation initiative under this project, aiming to improve living conditions and provide new opportunities for local families.

As the renovation progresses, the Chen family stands at the threshold of embracing a new chapter in their lives. Will this initiative pave the way for a brighter future for the Chen Lun family and others in the community?
