China’s CPPCC Wraps Up Standing Committee Session, Sets 2025 Goals

The 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's national political advisory body, concluded the tenth session of its standing committee on Sunday in Beijing.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the closing meeting and delivered a speech.

Wang highlighted the CPPCC's focus on the central tasks of the Party and the country, noting the body's achievements and progress made over the past year. He emphasized the importance of the CPPCC's role in advancing Chinese modernization and achieving the objectives outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan with high quality.

Looking ahead to 2025, Wang urged the political advisory body to continue its efforts to support the Party and nation's development goals. He also stressed the importance of ensuring the successful convening of the upcoming third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.

During the meeting, several key documents were adopted, including the draft agenda and schedule for the annual session, a work report of the Standing Committee of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, and a report detailing how proposals from political advisors have been addressed since the second session. These documents will now be submitted to the third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee for further review.
