China and Uruguay Strengthen Bilateral Ties at Presidential Inauguration

In a significant display of international friendship, Han Jun, the special envoy and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs from the Chinese mainland, attended the inauguration ceremony of Uruguay's new President, Yamandu Orsi, on Saturday.

The following day, President Orsi met with Han at the presidential palace, where Han extended President Xi Jinping's warm greetings and best wishes. Highlighting the robust relationship between the two nations, Han emphasized that since establishing diplomatic relations 37 years ago, China and Uruguay have developed a model partnership characterized by mutual respect, harmonious coexistence, and win-win cooperation.

Han underscored China's commitment to deepening its relationship with Uruguay, aiming to elevate bilateral ties to new heights. This enhanced partnership is expected to bring greater benefits to both nations, foster stability in Latin America, and contribute to the international community's pursuit of building a community with a shared future for mankind.

President Orsi expressed his gratitude to Han and President Xi for the envoy's presence at the inauguration. He affirmed that successive Uruguayan governments have consistently prioritized relations with the Chinese mainland, enjoying broad consensus across all societal sectors.

The new Uruguayan administration is poised to collaborate closely with China to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership.
