A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Tuesday morning in central China's Hunan Province when a passenger boat collided with an oil waste recovery vessel on the Yuanshui River. The collision occurred around 10 a.m. in Qinglang Township, Yuanling County, resulting in the capsizing and sinking of the passenger boat.
Of the 19 people aboard the passenger vessel, two have been confirmed dead, and 14 remain missing. Rescue operations have been swift, with over 60 rescue workers and more than 10 boats deployed to locate those still unaccounted for. Three survivors were pulled from the water and are currently hospitalized in stable condition.
