China is setting an ambitious target to essentially eliminate severe air pollution by 2025, marking the culmination of its 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025). Li Tianwei, an official with the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, announced the goal during a press conference on Monday.
To achieve this landmark objective, China plans to intensify its pollution control measures and reduce emissions across various industries. Additionally, the country will upgrade its air quality forecasting and early warning systems, ensuring timely responses to pollution events. Enhanced coordinated management of PM2.5 and ozone pollution will also play a crucial role in meeting the 2025 deadline.
This initiative reflects China's ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and improving the quality of life for its citizens. By leveraging advanced technologies and strategic planning, China aims to create a cleaner and healthier environment for the future.
