China Dominates Asia Cup Opening with Table Tennis Victories

China made a powerful start at the International Table Tennis Union (ITTU)-Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) Asia Cup held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Both the men's and women's singles events saw Chinese players secure decisive victories on Wednesday.

In the women's singles, World No. 1 Sun Yingsha showcased her exceptional skills by defeating Chien Tung-Chuan of Chinese Taipei with scores of 11-2, 11-8, 11-6 in under 22 minutes.

Sun kicked off the match strong, leading 3-0 in the first game and only conceding two points before clinching the set. Although Chien made a comeback in the second game, reducing the gap twice, Sun maintained her composure and extended her lead to 2-0.

The third game was closely contested, tied at 4-4. Sun's flawless serves put Chien's coach on the back foot, leading to a timeout. Despite the brief pause, Sun continued her relentless performance to secure the victory.

These initial wins set a promising tone for China as they aim to dominate the Asia Cup tournament.
