Harbin Wraps Asian Winter Games with Spring-Themed Spectacle

The 9th Asian Winter Games concluded in Harbin on February 14 with a visually stunning closing ceremony themed \"Wang Chun\" (Looking Forward to Spring). The event celebrated athletic triumphs while symbolizing hope for Asia's collective future through dance, light shows, and cultural performances blending tradition and technology.

Over 1,000 athletes from 27 countries and regions competed across 11 winter sports, with record-breaking performances in ice hockey, speed skating, and skiing. The ceremony highlighted cross-cultural unity, featuring artists from Japan, Kazakhstan, and the Chinese mainland collaborating on a digital art projection mapping Asia's diverse landscapes.

\"This Games showed how winter sports can bridge civilizations,\" said Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia Raja Randhir Singh. The handover to Saudi Arabia โ€“ host of the 2029 edition โ€“ included a holographic showcase of desertๆป‘้›ช (skiing) innovations, hinting at winter sports' expanding global footprint.
