Chinese President Xi Jinping Sends Warm Wishes to African Union at 38th Summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday sent a congratulatory message to the 38th African Union (AU) Summit, extending warm wishes to African countries and their people.

He highlighted the significant growth of the Global South, represented by China and Africa, amidst the current complex and intertwined international landscape.

Over the past year, the African Union has united its member countries to advance integration, actively respond to regional and global challenges, and voice the collective interests of Africa on the world stage, Xi noted.

These efforts have elevated Africa's international status and influence, and Xi expressed his sincere wishes for African nations to achieve greater success in their pursuits of independence, self-reliance, and development.

Looking ahead to 2024, Xi emphasized the vigorous development of China-Africa relations. With the successful Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, both regions have embarked on a new stage of building an all-weather community with a shared future for the new era, and remain at the forefront of fostering a community with a shared future for mankind.

He expressed readiness to collaborate with African leaders to implement six proposals for jointly advancing modernization and ten partnership actions, aiming to deliver tangible benefits to over 2.8 billion people in China and Africa.
