China and Mongolia Forge Deeper Ties in Energy, Tech, and Culture

Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene pledged to expand bilateral cooperation during a meeting in Harbin, China, emphasizing shared goals in energy, technology, and cultural exchange. The discussions aligned with efforts to realize commitments made by the two nations’ leaders and strengthen regional stability.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 9th Asian Winter Games’ closing ceremony, highlighted China’s commitment to deepen ties with Mongolia through ‘synergy of development strategies,’ particularly in mineral resources, infrastructure, and emerging fields like artificial intelligence (AI) and green energy. Li stressed the importance of ‘people-to-people exchanges’ in education, tourism, and youth initiatives to bolster mutual understanding.

Oyun-Erdene reaffirmed Mongolia’s adherence to the one-China policy and expressed enthusiasm for aligning the country’s growth plans with China’s Belt and Road Initiative. He praised China’s hosting of the Asian Winter Games as a platform to ‘elevate the voice of Asia.’

Both leaders underscored the need for regional cooperation to address global challenges, with Li advocating for ‘true multilateralism’ to safeguard peace and development across Asia.
