The 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin are not just a showcase of athletic excellence but also a melting pot of diverse cultures and languages. Volunteers play a pivotal role in ensuring the event runs smoothly, acting as cultural ambassadors and problem-solvers.
Among them is Wang Yi, an Arabic language student from Beijing International Studies University. Serving as an IBC Rights-Holding Broadcaster Service Assistant, Wang Yi has gone beyond her duties to make a significant impact. She has been instrumental in helping Saudi Arabian participants use mobile apps for ordering food and recommending local halal restaurants, ensuring they feel at home despite being far from their own country.
Her efforts have not gone unnoticed. In gratitude, her Saudi Arabian friends gifted her dates and perfume, symbols of their appreciation and the strong connections forged during the Games. Wang Yi's dedication exemplifies the spirit of global citizenship, fostering understanding and friendship across cultures.
