China Advocates for Global Collaboration and Security in AI at Paris Summit

At the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit in Paris on Monday, Zhang Guoqing, China's special representative and vice premier of the State Council, emphasized the need for global collaboration and security in AI development.

Zhang, a key member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted AI as a crucial driver for the new technological revolution and industrial transformation.

He stated that China is committed to participating in the global governance of AI in a highly responsible manner. Zhang referenced the Global AI Governance Initiative introduced by President Xi Jinping in October 2023, which aims to contribute Chinese wisdom to the international discourse on AI.

Addressing both the opportunities and challenges presented by AI, Zhang called on the international community to work together to deepen innovative cooperation, enhance inclusiveness, and ensure universal benefits from AI advancements. He also stressed the importance of improving global governance frameworks to manage AI's impact effectively.

In a forward-looking statement, Zhang welcomed all parties to participate in the upcoming 2025 World AI Conference in Shanghai, signaling China's ongoing commitment to fostering international partnerships in the AI sector.
