Kim Jae-youl, president of the International Skating Union (ISU), paid a visit to CGTN Sports Scene's studio amidst the ongoing 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province.
During his visit, Kim lauded Harbin for its exceptional organization of the Asian Winter Games and commended China's efforts in leveraging the legacy of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. His appreciation highlights the seamless transition and sustained impact of major sporting events in the region.
Kim was also presented with a New Year gift from Greg Laffradi of CGTN Sports Scene, symbolizing the strong and enduring partnership between the ISU and CGTN. In his remarks, Kim extended his best wishes to CGTN, acknowledging their long-term collaboration in promoting winter sports.
Accompanying Kim was ISU Director General Colin Smith, who made his inaugural visit to Harbin. Smith expressed his admiration for the Asian Winter Games and praised the city’s role in nurturing top Chinese winter sports athletes, underscoring Harbin’s pivotal position in the winter sports arena.
