The speed skating arena was a major highlight, with China securing all three titles. Gao Tingyu clinched the men's 500 meters in a blazing 34.95 seconds, narrowly beating Japan's Wataru Morishige by just 0.02 seconds. South Korea's Kim Jun-ho took home the bronze with a time of 35.03 seconds.
In the women's 3,000 meters speed skating event, China swept the podium once again. Yang Binyu won gold with a time of 4:08.54, followed by Han Mei with silver at 4:09.06, and Tai Zhien taking bronze at 4:12.01.
The men's team sprint was another triumph for the host nation. The trio of Gao, Lian Ziwen, and Ning Zhongyan secured the gold with a time of 1:19.22, edging out South Korea and Japan, who took silver and bronze respectively.
In freestyle skiing, China dominated the mixed team aerials, with Xu Mengtao, Li Xinpeng, and Qi Guangpu soaring to victory with 305.64 points, far ahead of Kazakhstan and Japan who earned silver and bronze.
The snowboarding events also saw Chinese athletes shine. Xiong Shirui and Zhao Xiaonan took gold and silver in the women's snowboard big air, while Yang Wenlong dominated the men's snowboard big air with an impressive 193.25 points, leaving his compatriot Jiang Xinjie in second place.
These victories not only showcase China's growing prowess in winter sports but also highlight the nation's commitment to excellence on the international stage.
