The Chinese mainland is currently grappling with a severe cold wave, with central and eastern regions expected to experience their lowest temperatures of the season. In response, local authorities have swiftly enacted measures to safeguard public safety and maintain essential daily supplies.
The National Meteorological Center has renewed a blue alert for a cold wave, alongside a yellow alert for strong winds, effective from Friday to Saturday. This cold wave is projected to sweep across various parts of the northwest and northern regions, the Huanghuai region (encompassing Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Shandong), most southern regions, the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, and the western Sichuan area.
In some affected regions, temperatures are expected to drop by more than 10 degrees Celsius, posing significant challenges to daily life and infrastructure.
