Xi Jinping Commits to Closer China-Pakistan Ties and CPEC Expansion

In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, Chinese President Xi Jinping has announced China's readiness to strengthen its partnership with Pakistan. Speaking during talks with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in Beijing, Xi emphasized the shared commitment to advancing modernization and building a closer China-Pakistan community of shared future.

Xi highlighted the longstanding friendship between the two nations, describing China and Pakistan as \"ironclad friends\" and \"all-weather strategic cooperative partners.\" He credited the enduring bond, established by past leaders, as a valuable asset for both countries and their populations.

Over recent years, China and Pakistan have reinforced their alliance through political support, high-level exchanges, and expanded cooperation across various sectors. A cornerstone of this collaboration is the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which Xi referred to as an exemplary model of state-to-state relations.

Xi reaffirmed China's unwavering support for Pakistan's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. He also pledged continued assistance in combating terrorism and pursuing a development path tailored to Pakistan's national conditions. Moreover, China expressed openness to further deepening reforms and increasing high-level engagements to enhance cooperation.

Looking ahead, Xi announced plans to jointly develop an \"upgraded version\" of CPEC, aiming to unlock Pakistan's development potential and solidify the foundation for sustained growth. As the two nations approach the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties, Xi called for intensified cultural, educational, and media exchanges to ensure the friendship between China and Pakistan endures for future generations.
