Harbin Taiping Airport Enhances Services for 9th Asian Winter Games Delegations

The excitement is building as the ninth Asian Winter Games prepare to kick off in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, on February 7. In anticipation of the event, Harbin Taiping International Airport has introduced a suite of new services designed to facilitate the smooth and efficient arrival of delegations from around the world.

On Saturday afternoon, over forty members of the South Korean delegation experienced the streamlined entry process firsthand. Utilizing special channels established specifically for the Asian Winter Games, their passage through customs was swift and hassle-free.

The organizing committee has been proactive in setting up an Arrivals & Departures Command Center at the airport. This center, staffed by a dedicated service team, ensures that all participants related to the Games can clear customs quickly, smoothly, and conveniently. Zhou Shengbin, deputy chief of the Command Center, highlighted the extensive preparations: \"Athletes from a total of 34 countries and regions will participate in the ninth Asian Winter Games in Harbin. We have developed different measures, including setting up special channels for customs clearance and border inspection as well as baggage reclaim areas for overseas delegations. Registration and activation points are set up for international arrivals too. So, foreign tourists and delegations will have access to quick and considerate services when they arrive in Harbin.\"

Among the arrivals was the Chinese mixed doubles curling pair, Han Yu and Wang Zhiyu. The duo, who teamed up in November, have been actively participating in competitions to prepare for the newly-added event in the Games.

Kuwait's delegation, comprising 33 athletes competing in seven disciplines, also made a smooth entry through the enhanced services. Their men's ice hockey team, which has been training since September, received warm hospitality from Chinese organizers and volunteers, fostering a welcoming environment. The deputy head of the Kuwait delegation expressed gratitude for the efficient organization and the supportive atmosphere in Harbin.

As the opening ceremony approaches, Harbin Taiping International Airport stands ready to welcome athletes and visitors from around the globe, ensuring that the ninth Asian Winter Games commence on a positive and well-organized note.
