China Media Group (CMG) has announced the program lineup for the highly anticipated 2025 Spring Festival Gala, set to light up screens on January 28 at 8 p.m. Beijing Time. This year’s gala promises a mesmerizing mix of performances, including songs, dances, skits, cross-talk, operas, martial arts, magic, and more, designed to bring the festive spirit of the Chinese New Year to a global audience.
The gala will be broadcast across multiple CMG television channels such as CCTV-1, CCTV-3, CCTV-4, alongside dedicated 4K and 8K ultra-high-definition channels. In addition to traditional TV, viewers can tune in via various CMG radio frequencies and new media platforms, ensuring accessibility for all.
Emphasizing inclusivity, CMG has introduced new accessibility features this year. Visually impaired viewers can enjoy the gala through CMG's live audio broadcast, while hearing-impaired audiences can access customized features on CMG's news app and video platforms.
Expanding its global reach, the gala will be available internationally through CGTN in English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian, part of CMG’s extensive 82-language media network. Over 2,900 media outlets in more than 200 countries and regions will carry the live broadcast, making it a truly worldwide celebration.
For the first time, CMG has partnered with five major global news alliances—the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, the Arab States Broadcasting Union, the African Union of Broadcasting, the European News Exchange, and the Latin American News Alliance—to promote the gala on a global scale.
Known as Chunwan in China, the Spring Festival Gala has been a beloved tradition since 1983, celebrated for bringing families together and showcasing China's rich cultural heritage and creativity. As we approach the Year of the Snake, the 2025 gala is set to be a dazzling cultural feast that harmoniously blends modernity with tradition, highlighting inclusivity and fostering global connections.
