Qi Guangpu Triumphs with Back-to-Back Golds at FIS Aerials World Cup

In a remarkable display of skill and consistency, Qi Guangpu of the Chinese mainland secured his second consecutive gold medal at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Aerials World Cup in Lac-Beauport, Canada.

The competition saw six athletes from the Chinese mainland reach the finals, with Qi standing out among them. During the qualifiers, he achieved the second-best score of 121.24 points, trailing only his compatriot Li Xinpeng and the host skier Emile Nadeau.

In the decisive second final, Qi delivered an outstanding performance, amassing a total score of 110.56 points. His exceptional execution in the air earned him 5.80 points, while his form was rated at an impressive 13.60. Qi's compatriot, Wang Xindi, matched him in landing with a score of 7.90, earning the silver medal with 105.88 points. Emile Nadeau took home the bronze with 95.98 points.

The women's finals saw Xu Mengtao of the Chinese mainland finish 11th in the first round, while Shao Qi advanced to the second final, ultimately securing fourth place. In the women's category, Laura Peel of Australia won gold with 102.17 points, followed by American Karenna Elliott and Australian Airleigh Frigo, who took silver and bronze respectively.

Qi Guangpu's back-to-back victories highlight the strength and depth of the Chinese mainland's aerial skiing team on the global stage.
