China Media Group Rehearses for Spectacular 2025 Spring Festival Gala

China Media Group (CMG) held its fifth rehearsal for the highly anticipated 2025 Spring Festival Gala on Sunday, fine-tuning what promises to be a grand celebration on the eve of the Chinese New Year.

The gala will showcase a diverse array of performances, including singing, dancing, crosstalk, sketches, opera, martial arts, and magic. This year's show seamlessly blends traditional culture with modern elements, thanks to the impeccable coordination between the main venue in Beijing and four additional sub-venues located in Chongqing, Wuhan, Lhasa, and Wuxi.

A standout moment from the rehearsal was a heartfelt song performed by artists from China's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), who extended their best wishes to the region. This yearโ€™s event is especially noteworthy as it marks the first edition of the Spring Festival Gala since the Spring Festival was successfully included on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The gala, affectionately known as \"Chunwan\" in Chinese, has been broadcast live annually since 1983 and serves as a major cultural symbol for traditional Chinese New Year celebrations. The 2025 edition is set to air on January 28, bringing together audiences from across the globe to celebrate this rich heritage.
