China Media Group (CMG) took a vibrant step in promoting global celebrations of the Chinese New Year by hosting a special Prelude to the Spring Festival Gala event in São Paulo, Brazil, on Wednesday. The gathering attracted over 200 attendees, including officials, diplomats, and cultural figures, highlighting the increasing international appreciation of the Spring Festival.
The event was a feast for the senses, featuring mesmerizing performances that showcased the richness of Chinese culture. Attendees enjoyed ink wash painting demonstrations presented by the Confucius Institute at São Paulo State University, alongside traditional Chinese folk music performed by the Confucius Institute at State University of Campinas.
One of the event’s highlights was the dynamic Sichuan Opera's \"face-changing\" performances, which left the audience in awe with their swift and intricate transformations. The rhythmic beats of lion dances and the graceful movements of dragon dances added to the festive atmosphere, bringing traditional celebrations to life.
In addition to performances, a display of traditional Chinese clothing allowed guests to experience the elegance and beauty of Chinese attire firsthand. This interactive exhibit provided a deeper understanding of the cultural significance and craftsmanship behind each garment.
CMG’s initiative not only celebrated the Spring Festival but also reinforced the importance of cultural exchange and international recognition, making it a memorable event for all participants in São Paulo.
