In a move highlighting the importance of rural development, Chinese Premier Li Qiang visited the historic revolutionary base area of the Dabie Mountains in east China's Anhui Province on Wednesday, ahead of the Spring Festival.
As a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Premier Li extended his Spring Festival greetings to local officials and residents during his tour.
During his visit to Huangpu Village in Qianshan City, Li met with elderly veterans and CPC Party members. He emphasized the critical need to accelerate the modernization of agriculture and rural areas by addressing gaps in pensions, education, and healthcare.
Premier Li also called for enhanced efforts to improve rural infrastructure, public services, and living environments, recognizing these as vital components for sustainable rural communities.
At the silkworm and mulberry industrial park in Zhongfan Village, Qianshan City, Li underscored the role of industrial development in rural revitalization. He highlighted the importance of leveraging local resources, developing multifaceted agriculture, and harnessing the diverse potentials of rural areas to upgrade entire industrial chains.
Following his field visits, Premier Li chaired a symposium in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, on Thursday. The symposium focused on gathering officials' opinions and suggestions regarding the government work report and ongoing governmental initiatives.
In his address, Premier Li urged all levels of government to implement the Party's decisions and arrangements diligently. He called for proactive and prompt measures to ensure sustained economic recovery and growth, aligning with the broader goals of national development.
