Chinese President Xi Jinping extended warm Spring Festival greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and other non-affiliated personages on Monday. The greetings were delivered during an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, as the Chinese Lunar New Year approaches on January 29.
During the event, Xi emphasized China’s commitment to implementing proactive macro policies and focusing on high-quality development. He highlighted the importance of promoting self-reliance and strengthening advancements in science and technology to ensure sustained social and economic growth by 2025.
Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and other non-affiliated groups to prioritize central tasks, serve the nation’s overall interests, and utilize their unique strengths. He urged these groups to help build consensus, rally broader support, and contribute their wisdom and strength towards national goals.
The president underscored the significance of achieving the objectives outlined in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a robust foundation for the subsequent five-year period. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize positive forces to advance development, deepen reforms, and contribute proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
Additionally, Xi stressed the need to address critical challenges in supervising the protection of the Yangtze River ecosystem. He encouraged the ACFIC to guide the private sector in fostering entrepreneurship, boosting development confidence, and establishing modern corporate systems with distinct Chinese characteristics.
