CMG Unveils Exciting Innovations for 2025 Spring Festival Gala

China Media Group (CMG) held a press conference this Sunday to showcase the highlights and technological advancements of the upcoming 2025 Spring Festival Gala. Marking the first CMG Spring Festival Gala since the festival's inclusion in UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list, this year's event promises a blend of tradition and modernity aimed at a global audience.

The gala will feature ordinary individuals from diverse backgrounds, allowing them to take center stage and celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year alongside millions. This inclusive approach emphasizes the rich cultural tapestry of China, making the celebration relatable to viewers worldwide.

In a bid to enhance viewer experience, CMG is integrating cutting-edge technology such as 8K resolution, artificial intelligence, and a combination of XR, digital twin, and VP shooting techniques. These innovations will create a limitless virtual stage, offering a 360-degree and 3D viewing experience that elevates the visual presentation on vertical screens.

Accessibility is a key focus for this year's gala, with barrier-free broadcasts being introduced for visually and hearing-impaired audiences. Utilizing AR virtual technology, sign language interpreters will provide real-time interpretation at the gala concert hall, ensuring that everyone can fully engage with the festivities.

The gala's main event in Beijing will be co-hosted by popular CCTV personalities Ren Luyu, Sa Beining, Nigemaiti Reheman, Long Yang, and Ma Fanshu. Viewers can tune in on January 28 at 8 p.m. across multiple platforms, including 4K and 8K Ultra HD channels, as well as new media platforms like CCTV News and CRI.

Internationally, the gala will reach a wide audience through CGTN's English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian channels. Additionally, 82 foreign language communication platforms will collaborate with over 2,600 overseas mainstream media outlets across 200 countries and regions, ensuring a comprehensive global broadcast of the event.
