In a groundbreaking discovery, the China Geological Survey (CGS) announced on Friday the identification of a vast rare earth deposit in southwest China's Yunnan Province. This significant find boasts potential resources of 1.15 million tonnes, positioning China even more firmly at the forefront of the global rare earth market.
The newly discovered deposit is classified as a super-large ion-adsorption type, a rarity since the first such discovery in east China's Jiangxi Province back in 1969. Among the elements found are critical rare earths like praseodymium, neodymium, dysprosium, and terbium, collectively exceeding 470,000 tonnes.
