Mainland China Resumes Taiwan Group Tours for Fujian and Shanghai Residents

Exciting news for travelers! The Chinese mainland is set to resume group tour services for residents of Fujian and Shanghai to Taiwan, as announced by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Friday.

This move has been warmly received by both sides of the Taiwan Strait, with Chen Binhua, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, expressing strong support. Chen highlighted that this initiative responds to the enthusiastic anticipation among residents for enhanced exchanges and aligns with the collective aspirations for peace, development, and cooperation.

\"We actively support this and will be happy to see it come to fruition,\" Chen added, emphasizing the positive impact of restoring these tour services on cross-Straits interactions.

Chen also called on the Democratic Progressive Party authorities to acknowledge the mainstream public opinion and industry voices on the island. He urged the lifting of the \"ban on group tours,\" cancellation of travel warnings for Taiwan residents traveling to the mainland, and the full restoration of direct cross-Straits passenger flights. These measures are expected to create favorable conditions for increased exchanges and collaborations in various fields.

This development marks a significant step towards strengthening ties and fostering mutual understanding between the mainland and Taiwan, paving the way for more interactive and cooperative engagements in the future.
