In a significant move marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the importance of fostering a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. Speaking on Tuesday, Wang highlighted the strategic significance of this initiative in achieving new milestones for both nations.
Wang Yi, also serving as a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, delivered his remarks during a meeting with Vietnamese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu. This meeting represents the first strategic consultation between the foreign ministries of China and Vietnam.
Reflecting on the long-standing relationship between the two countries, Wang expressed China's readiness to collaborate with Vietnam in maintaining high-level exchanges, deepening strategic mutual trust, and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. He emphasized that these efforts are essential to support their ongoing modernization drives.
Vietnamese Vice Minister Nguyen Minh Vu reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment to prioritizing its relationship with China.
