Tibetan Buddhist Leader Prays for Earthquake-Hit Xizang

Panchen Rinpoche has stepped forward to support the victims of the devastating M6.8 earthquake that struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 126 lives.

Panchen Erdeni Chos-kyi rGyal-po, a prominent figure in Tibetan Buddhism, led heartfelt prayer sessions alongside fellow monks. Together, they chanted sacred scriptures and prayed fervently for the swift recovery and safety of those affected by the disaster.

In addition to their spiritual efforts, Panchen Rinpoche and approximately 900 monks from Tashilhunpo Monastery, his traditional seat, generously donated funds to aid the quake-stricken communities.

Beyond his religious leadership, Panchen Rinpoche serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's premier political advisory body, and holds the position of vice president within the Buddhist Association of China.

Through his actions, Panchen Rinpoche exemplifies compassion and commitment to fostering peace and prosperity within the nation.
