Harbin, the host city for the ninth Asian Winter Games, successfully concluded the second speed skating test event on Sunday and Monday. This marks a significant step towards finalizing preparations for the upcoming games.
The event adhered strictly to formal race requirements, utilizing official timing systems and equipment for athletes. The local sports administration of Heilongjiang Province selected 63 elite athletes to participate in the test event, ensuring a high level of competition.
In addition to the competitions, organizers conducted drills for non-competition aspects such as broadcasting, award ceremonies, medical services, and spectator management. These drills are crucial for ensuring a smooth experience for both participants and attendees during the actual games.
The ninth Asian Winter Games are scheduled to begin on February 7. Amitesh Mishra of India was the first foreign athlete to enter the Chinese mainland using his Asian Winter Games registration card, marking the start of international participation in the event.
\"I am really looking forward to it (the Games), this is my second Asian Games. I think China generally does a great job hosting the event,\" Mishra shared with China Media Group (CMG).
Foreign athletes and staff associated with the Asian Winter Games will be able to enter and exit the Chinese mainland multiple times using their valid passports and Asian Winter Games registration cards from January to March.
