Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, has underscored the importance of high-quality audit-based oversight to ensure the Chinese mainland's robust economic and social development.
In a recent directive on audit work, Xi highlighted the pivotal role that audit authorities have played in promoting the healthy growth of the economy, safeguarding national economic security, identifying risks, and combating corruption.
Emphasizing the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee in audit operations, Xi called for audit authorities to concentrate on their primary responsibilities, deepen reforms and innovations, and enhance self-improvement. He advocated for the establishment of a comprehensive, authoritative, and efficient audit oversight system.
The significance of Xi's instruction was conveyed by Wu Zhenglong, State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council, during the national audit work conference held in Beijing.
The conference also recognized the exemplary performance of 80 audit institutions and 45 individuals, honoring their contributions to the field.
