China's passion for winter sports has reached new heights, with over 300 million people embracing ice and snow activities since the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
Following the success of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the nation's enthusiasm for winter sports has continued to grow exponentially. According to China's General Administration of Sport, around 313 million citizens have participated in ice and snow sports or related leisure activities, reflecting a significant cultural shift towards embracing these dynamic pastimes.
Local governments across the country have responded by developing supportive facilities, aiming to make winter sports more accessible to the public. By the end of 2023, there were 2,847 ice and snow sports venues nationwide, marking a 16.11 percent year-on-year increase. This expansion provides more opportunities for people to engage in winter sports, fostering a healthier and more active society.
